Ideas on Where to Meet People
April 24, 2009
Many people are looking for new ideas on where to meet people. The bar scene can be fun for a while, but it’s not for everyone and there comes a time when a person wants a more meaningful relationship.
The best place to start is knowing what you’re looking for in a partner. Take a few minutes to write down the qualities that are most important to you. It’s amazing how having a clear picture of what you want will attract that type of person into your life. I highly recommend a book for women written by Bob Grant called, “The Women Men Adore…And Never Want To Leave.” It helps you clarify what you want in a relationship, and gives great insight on how men think and what they really find attractive…and it isn’t what you’re probably thinking. I love the book and I have recommended it to my own daughters.
You don’t really need to go anywhere special to meet people…there are people everywhere you go, you just have to be receptive to them. A nice smile, eye contact and a little confidence are about all you really need to meet people in your everyday life. If you like to get out and do things you’ll likely meet people with similar interests. If you’re interested in wine tasting go to wine tasting events. If you’re into health go to the gym or take an exercise or karate class, or take a dog walking. Join a book club or a photograpy class. If you’re looking for someone fun, creative and positive thinking find a local Cash Flow game or motivational club. If you can’t find what you want, don’t be afraid to start a group of your own.
Just keep in mind what it is you’re looking for, be receptive and plesant to everyone, you will soon be meeting people everywhere you go. And finally, when you feel that intuitive nudge from within…act on it.
